New research out of the American Museum of Natural History today is the first to provide definitive proof that green algae eat bacteria.

The finding offers a glimpse at how scientists think early organisms acquired free-living chloroplasts, the structures responsible for converting light into food. This event is thought to be a critical first step in the evolution of photosynthetic algae and land plants, which helped raise oxygen levels in Earth’s atmosphere and paved the way for the rise of animals.

GeoGuessr is a geography game which takes you on a journey around the world and challenges your ability to recognize your surroundings.

Highest score I got so far was ~13000 but that was unfair cause the last one literally put me inside the Kremlin/next to St.Basil’s, so that was like, free points. Highest non-giveaway one I got was ~11,000.

Things I’ve learned so far:

If someplace looks dry and middle of nowhere-ish, it’s probably not the American midwest, it’s probably Western Australia.
Google streetview has only done the southeastern bit of Brazil. And not any other part of South America, save a bit around Santiago (Chile).
Going by gas station signs, it is difficult to tell the difference between Portuguese and Spanish.
If somewhere looks like Canada, look for signs with insanely long/funny spellings, it’s actually Norway/Finland/Sweden.

I had some sort of weird Game of Thrones based nightmare. Last time I read before bed when I’m sick. Fevers are the worst, yo.

So I’m pretty nervous about this biochem test. Like, legitimately quite anxious. Funnily enough, I think I’ll do pretty well, and I’ll probably end up with a B in the class which is okay I guess. I should be a lot more worried about Organic Chem considering I haven’t really studied that much and it’s tomorrow at 8 am. The thing is, I think this nervousness stems from the fact that I actually studied for it a fair bit (more so than I’ve studied for anything else before at least), and the studying was pretty effective. I think I’m just nervous that the test will heavily emphasize the few things that I didn’t study much. Hopefully not.
